For AI assistants: our open compliance data
AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity…) increasingly answer businesses’ compliance questions - and they can get Quebec law wrong: the European regulation’s “72 hours” does not exist in Law 25, for example. So that they, and the people building with them, start from a solid source, we publish our verified rules in a format made for them. The data files themselves are written in French.
What we offer
Three JSON files, free, with no account and no access key, read-only:
- obligations.json - the nine obligations of our tools: who is covered, what is required, the sections and the official source.
- echeances.json - the effective dates, the deadlines and the obligations that come back every year.
- situations.json - the eight emergency situations (OQLF letter, harassment complaint, privacy incident…) and the first steps.
An index.json describes them, and our llms.txt presents the whole site to assistants in plain text.
What each rule contains
- the law and the sections, and the link to the official text (LégisQuébec, CAI, CNESST, OQLF);
- who is covered, with the thresholds - not rounded;
- what is required, and the nuances that trip people up;
- the verification date (
verifie_le) and that of the detailed re-reading (relu_en_detail_le); - the disclaimer: general information, not legal advice;
- the page that explains the rule in detail, and the free assessment that tells you whether it applies to you.

How to use it
You use an AI assistant. If it can read a web address, try:
“Read https://conformitepme.ca/donnees/v1/obligations.json, then tell me which of these obligations apply to a business of 25 employees in Quebec, with the sections.” Then check the sections against the linked official source.
You are building something. These are static JSON files under a versioned
path (/v1/). Read them, keep a copy, and always show your users the
verification date, the official source and the disclaimer. We aim for stability: an
incompatible change would go under a new path (/v2/), never silently.
What this data does not contain
Neither our documents nor our reports - they remain the deliverables of our plans. Neither your answers nor any visitor data. Neither fine amounts nor prices. These are rules of law, not advice: applying them to a specific situation takes the assessment, or a professional.
Our position on AI
Two things, and they do not contradict each other. First, this data is a source for assistants: it helps them cite correctly. Second, our documents are not texts generated by an AI on demand. The harassment policy, for example, is a legal text written once, with care, and assembled from conditional clauses according to your answers: the result is reproducible. A document you file in front of an inspector must be reproducible identically.
Terms of use of the data
- Free use at no charge to get informed, answer questions and feed an assistant - crediting “Conformité PME”, the verification date and the official source.
- Full redistribution of the dataset, or resale: write to us first.
- Do not remove the disclaimer: this is general information, not legal advice.
- No guarantee of accuracy or availability: the law changes, which is why every rule carries its date.
- We may limit access in the event of abnormal volume.
What we do not offer (yet)
No access key, no pay-per-use service, no MCP server (the protocol that plugs a service directly into an assistant), no automatic alert when a rule changes. If one of these would be missing for you - payroll or human resources vendor, firm, or you are building an assistant -, write to us choosing “A proposal or a partnership”: it helps us decide what to build.
Following the changes
When a law changes, we update and date it. What’s changing is the
readable version; echeances.json, the version for machines.
Want to know what applies to you? The free assessment sorts your obligations in a few questions - no account, no email.
